Doug Symes

Doug Symes (pictured) has been a Senior Client Adviser for over 40 years and has maintained an office in Wollongong CBD since 2000. Doug was educated at The Scots College, Bellevue Hill in Sydney and attended Sydney University and Wollongong University to obtain a Bachelor of Commerce.

Within a few years of being an Operator on the floor of the Sydney Stock Exchange Doug worked with organisations such as Clinton and Co, Challenger and Bell Potter. He became a member of the Australian Stock Exchange in 1986 and is currently an Authorized Representative of Novus Capital Limited. As a Senior Adviser he focuses on using the share market to assist his clients with advice on share market investments.

Doug has, and remains an active community member, having been President of Wollongong Rotary and Chairman of the Wollongong Wolves soccer team when they brought home the Illawarra's first National Title in 1999/2000. Doug supports many community groups and charities including the Black and White Committee for Vision Australia, The Shepherd Centre for the hearing impaired, and various equine groups.

Above all, Dougs specialty is in identifying client needs, providing sound financial services advice and assisting them to reach their financial goals.

Doug has obtained all qualifications to provide advice in equities, derivatives, gain access to Initial Public Offerings, and provide share trading assistance in trading in Self Managed Super Funds. Doug continues to undertake additional training to keep up to date with current requirements and industry standards.
